Provoking Dynasty-Scans *shakes head*

If you check the last two posts by Casusby and Pararama. They talk about how Dynasty-Scans was provoked by a certain person "gurobatschow" in the scanlation of the recent Pastel Chapters.

In general gist, this guro person was fed up with the long waiting time for the recent chapters of Pastel and decided they would scanlate those chapters themselves and see how Dynasty-Scans would react.

Now if you go to the Dynasty-Scans website, you'll see Pararama talk a bit and Casusby quite pissed.
I'm more aligned with Casusby's post than Pararama's. They'res nothing wrong with Pararama's and it was quite a nice post.

I myself generally prefere quality manga scanlations rather than speed scanlations. Especially for the manga's i enjoy. e.g. xxxholic, busou renkin, pastel, hajime no ippo, onepiece, etc.. So despite sometimes reading the faster ones, i still download the higher quality scans when they come out simply because they're a better read.
It's almost the same with quality-fansubs Vs. speed-subbers.

Either way, Go Casusby and other quality Scanlators/Fansubbers. Thank you guys for your hardwork and don't let those idoits prompt you too much, they're generally thinking high of themselves and not really worth your time.

A Certain Magical Index - 18

Finally!
Some Possible Plot DEVELOPMENT!!!!

The previous arc with the Angel Fall was alright, and previous to that was a whole friggin introduction to various characters. But now that it seems that most of the characters have been mainly introduced, i'd been hoping for some plot development.

And, what i had hope is comming true. In episode 18 (with the new OP) we get hint of a Kamijyou Faction. And that there are people who are out to destroy this. The interesting thing i guess is the labelling on the existance of the Faction, we know (apparently) that Touma isn't actively seeking out people to make them into allies and do his bidding, it is however, he just happens to be in the cross fire of the magical and scientific world and has friends in both realms. In light of this, the higher ups see him as a future threat.

This seems as a possible decent plot to start with. I just hope that things will pick up and its not so many disconnected arcs. They're at episode 18 already ~_~

Aside from that, Misaka has a lot of screen time and i'm starting to agree she's a better character. Index has very little screen time recently, to the extent its almost as if she hasn't existed. However, thinking on the origins of Index, her character background has been explained during the first episode, so there isn't much that one can do right? Dunno, but lets see how this all turns out.

Winter 09 Series

So~ Now that i've finally and finished reviewing (if you could call it that) the completed anime from the previous season. I can venture forth into the Winter Anime Series!
Of course i'll only be mentioning the ones that i've got an eye on.

Druaga no To - the Sword of Uruk
As some might know, this is th sequel to Aegis of Uruk that was shown last year. And we're following off from there quite nicely with only a passing of half a year.
We see that the "left-behind" party is living life out normally, with the exception of Jil who appears to be deep in sorrow and despair.
We also get introduced to a some new characters. Kai/Ki who appears to be Prietess Ishtar and the Queen Gilgamesh. Or It might've been Ishtar herself, and a druid who just got dragged along into the party xD We also see the face of Utu! Either way, with Kai/Ki, Jil and party now have a means to climb to the tower above the shrine and find out the truth, ad Jil is determined to find it. (Even with Fatina bonding well with him now.)
Anyways, i am interested in seeing how this goes. I'm up for a serious plot development or it being riddled of RPG paradoies and what not ^_^

Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo
Also known as 'The Girl who Leapt through Space'. I honestly wasn't following this anime orignally, however, with two distinct polar-based opinions of this series, i decided to check out how bad it was. Unfortunately, its turned out to be slightly interesting so far.

The time frame is somewhere in futuristic space. Colonies with lil androids that serve and befriend us. They're at their peak of peacefulness and happiness. This is evident with things having be censored, e.g. Anti-partical cannons, brain colonies etc...
either way, we have our girl meeting by accident the Brain Colony, which is named Leopoard (same voice as Lelouch, i'm finding it rather amusing the all cunning serious Britanian Zero is now doing this kind of role)
Anyways, we haven't gotten to the real plot of the series yet, however, it seems that Leopard is doing some sort of show, and there seems to be this other group of people across some sort of vast distance are also involved. I'm interested to see how this will all play out.

White Album
Another idol romance anime. I don't know why i picked this up. this at least seems better than I''s Pure. I might be seeing how much of a tragic fail this series might be.

Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger
YAY! Another Ippo anime! This follows directly after the previous anime, we start with Miyata's OPBF title challenge, and the rest should be Ippo's defense as champion and what not. However, with these new CGs and, the characters seem a tad out of place, or maybe i'm just use to old style animation.

Asu no Yoichi
Harem! xD Though at least the main guy doesn't seem to be as useless at first. He's been train and bred in the mountains all his life in the life of a samurai. However, he already exceeds his father so he his father orders him to learn in the city. He'll be freeloading at another dojo that has the same style. And they all happen to be girls.
Oh well, comedy romance harem with action i guess.

Chrome Shelled Regios
Set in some dusty-sandy desert world, people live in move-able domes. And there will be inter-dome wars/fight that i believe seek to obtain resources or something.
Anyways, it seems we'll be following platoon 17, with our main character Layfon. Who transferred into this dome to start a new life as he was brought up in the Military Arts. Platoon 17 also consist of Felli, the psychokinetic ability girl. Sharnid their sharpshooter (he reminds me of Weber from FMP), Harley the Dite-mechanic (Dite are the weapons they use. Pretty nifty in their ability to be compact and restore to full form) with Nina the head of the platoon.
anyways, i'm interseted to see where this will lead me. A combo of comedy and action and some plot going on ^_^ And there could be a love triangle but *shrug*

RideBack
Motorbikes with arms that can transform into two legged vehicles? COOL!!! enough for me xD Intersetingly enough also is that the heroine is a girl who had done ballet all her life, and she's using her agility, grace and flexibility from ballet to use these RideBacks. Not your typical mecha show.

Munto TV AKA Sora o Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi no Utsuru Sekai
Normal girl gets involved in the World of the Heavens. She alone holds the power to save both the two worlds. Now i get lazy in describing, but this gives me a feel of escaflowne in the beginning. But this is one type i havent seen for a while i hope i'm in for a good ride ^_^
ANN Summary
I'm a bit sad its only registered for 13 eps though.

KuroKami
I've been following the manga for this and quite enjoy it. However, the anime has changed a few things. E.g. from Keita being the guy who is a programmer to a HS guy. This annoys me. No one has subbed it yet or released an ep of it yet xD
KuroKami or BlackGod involves our world and the existance of Dopplegangers along with Triple-liners. Its fairly interesting. Action ^_^ Comedy ^_^ i hope the anime will be as good as the manga despite all the changes, but i can't help but feel Keita will be more useless and pathetic *sigh*

-------------------------------------------------------------

they'res one more i'm interested in, except i haven't found it yet.

Review: Ga Rei Zero

Ga Rei Zero.

The first episode where we had a majority of characters being killed off, making us wonder what's going to happen now?

Well, like backtrack methods, this is what it was. Except, it was the beginning of the ending. Rather than just the ending.

So from the second episode onwards, we get introduced properly to the main characters. Especially around Kagura and Yomi.
As mentioned in previous post (i hope), Ga Rei Zero is actually the prequel to the manga, and i'd say it does an alright job, i do feel slightly tempted to read the manga to see what actually happens now. However, i'm still content with just the anime.

I still love the OP ^_^. I can't remember the ED though....

I can't really say much about this, but if you like action, and girls with swords killing monsters a bit of romance and tragedy this one does a nice job to pass time. And for those who dislike their heroines becomming weak after falling in love with a guy. Don't worry, it doesn't happen here ^_^ The girls are strong (generally) throughout the series ^_^

Review: Kurozuka

Before i delve into the review that i had completed watching a long time ago (at the same time as choas;head and ga rei zero), i'll just mention a late Happy Chinese New Year!
And sorry for the quietness, i have been quite busy these past few weeks.

Kurozuka is an action thriller-ish fantasy sci fi anime. We begin the story in Ancient Japan where Kuro meets Kuromitsu. Kuromitsu appears to be the classic japanese beauty living all by herself in the middle of the forest. However, towards the end of the first episode we notice she actually drinks the blood of people. And without a doubt, we'll think she's a vampire.
Also Kuro also joins her in her 'sect' however, his head gets sliced off before the transformation is complete. But lo and behold, he's still alive and he wakes up to a post-apocolypstical Tokyo.

However, he has no memories. Just that an urge to find Kuromitsu. So the story revolves around him trying to find Kuromitsu while dealing with his own amnesia and the sect that is also after Kuromitsu in search of power and immortality.

A nice basic plot, with a few interesting twists and turns. The side characters are decent (though not decent enough for me to remmeber their names, but then, this was quite a while ago). The action scenes were at times a big jaggered, i have a slight dislike in action scenes where a character has superb speed in comparison to their opponents. So when they duke it out, we always tend to see the enemies in slow motion, with our super-character zipping about between opponents, pause, kill and continue. I have rarely found (in memory search) any movie or animation that has done this well. (the Matrix almost done it, but then Neo and Trinity and Morpheus weren't super fast, they just slowed the whole scene done.)

With regards to the ending, this is one of the endings that still has me trying to figure out the whole thing. I've either got a basic gist of it, or my mind had just accepeted it, i wouldn't mind rewatching it from start to finish to see how i can link it all together yet.

The OP sucks, The ED's alright.

This might be something i'd recommend for people like action and a bit of mystery. And maybe vampire... even though there really isn't a vampire so to say.
