Hopefully i'll start having a schedule of when i should tell you guys i'm still rockin and not dying or what not.

And for those who have been constantly checking and dissapointed that i haven't updated anything, my humbliest apologies.

I'll do try to keep you guys informed of whats going on the ins and outs or so here.

HK Tourist Tragedy.

8 Hong Kong Tourists in Manila were killed, with 2 more in critical condition in a Bus Jacking.

Although there are many lives currently being lost in the world whether innocent or guilty, the situation that was handled in Manila is a bit.... infutriating..

OneManga Shutdown

As the title states. OneManga.com, one of the most well known Manga-Streaming sites is shutting down due to publisher issues.

As one who frequents this site, i frown in sadness at the loss as it had saved me from the old days of checking between scanlators and downloading each file.
The original reason for downloading the file was so that i could always read it offline, however, in times like these when we are online 24/7 with somewhat decent bandwidth (right... 6_6 my internet has been killing me recently.. *sigh* ) streaming is in light, a simpler choice. Rather than burdening your machine with manga, you are now able to still read the manga at the expense of your online quota. There is only a slight difference between the data you download, unless you choose to re-read series.
This gives rise to streaming or online-viewers.

None the less, the closing of OneManga and its sister site 1000manga is a loss.

------------------------------------

on a side note, if you had wondered what i have been doing, there was a post i had created for Dance in the Vampire Bund. but due to my bad internet.... ~__~

------------------------------------

Here's a toast to a healthier internet and the life of OneManga.

Busy Gaming

Yes yes.

It is holidays, and instead of fixing up the supposed error of my blog layout, i've been gaming. Namely Rise Of Nations, The Settlers 6, and The World Ends With You.

on a side note, when i had misplaced my DS Stylist, i decided to use a cotton bud. it still works fine xD until after a few hours when i've accidently bent it too much..^^;;

Style Issues

It has been brought to my attention, that the layout of my blog (while definitely not the best), has caused some issues. In the event that it looks disproporinate(sp?), please notify me of this, and which browser and what resolution you use.

Thanks in Advance,

AngelBeats!

Photobucket

AngelBeats!, another Key Animation (Clannad, Kanon and Air)

There have been quite a few people dissing AngelBeats in that Hironori Towa has made it hard to follow. It's a mixture of drama and comedy, to which i also find in other Key works.

The setting is the afterlife, teens who seemingly have lived a harsh life are given this second chance to relive it, or are present as they refuse to ascend further into the journey of life and reincarnate. They seemingly hold grudges against God for their unfair life, and are now waging War against a character they named, Tenshi (Angel). Our main character surprisingly (or not) enough happens to have amnesia and has no recollection of his previous living life and is now part of the After Life Brigade.

Originally, i had no real interest in this series, it doesn't sound great. It doesn't sound fantastic. It doesn't sound interesting. It doesn't sound mind-boggling. It doesn't sound 'woooo~~~~~'.

So why did i pick it up? I was bored.
The current passing autumn/winter season had no real series of interest. My main follows were AngelBeats!, Working! and K-On!! (funny enough now that i notice, all of them end with an exclamation mark xD )

As for the reason why i didn't drop this, was aside from the fact that it was an ok time-filler was the nice intro song.
AngelBeats, lends itself into a roughly 50/50 category of drama and comedy, neither able to be properly in one category either due to poor writing or insufficient time.
The Drama, if stand-a-lone would've been good, once you include more character relation and time dedicated to it.
OR
The comedy would have been fine, it played all parts fine.

What was slightly jarring was the shifting between the two spectrums within episodes.
However, it was deemed fair, until the final episode (13), where Yuri suddenly had a drastic character persona change.

From most people already stating the wtf? a the pace, i laughed until i saw the comming of this ep. And was actually a bit dissapointed. The transition between episode 12 and 13 is quite jarring, and... well... even the revelation of Kanade.
*sigh*

Overall, i might have been just fine with ending the series at episode 11, it would have suffice. Episode 12 however, might suit some people's taste of Yuri's new character if she floats your boat.

Recommendation: Why not. this techincally won't hurt you much, and it makes me interested in trying out Mapo Tofu, as the ones i've had aren't that spicy. Though one question remains is, how can you have such healthy teens living such.. peaceful? lives especially given Japan's promiscuity at that afterlife setting.

My New Scarf.

I have won a scarf!
All thanks to JapanStyle.
I found that website when i was reading their Wasabi Stories (yes, i was just browsing the net to find little stories to read.) and the stuff they have here aren't too bad, ranging from niche little things like bowls, plates, candles, scarves, and other stuff that are generally Japan related, but not necessarily Anime related.

Anywhoo~ they apparently have prizes to win every month or so, and the previous one was a Scarf, i wanted a new scarf, and it looked interesting so i gave it a shot ^^
The conditions were that i had to post a review. (To which i have already sent AND requested permission from them post here. Permission Granted ^^ )

It is a bit sad that i haven't been able to post much anime stuff lately, but i AM in exam period *cough* *cough*

I'm not sure WHEN they'll post up my review of the scarf, i'm guessing they're waiting for all the reviews to come in first.

And yes, my scarf is pink. I'm too manly so i need something to tone me down =P

======================================================

Upon opening the parcel, the scarf came nice packaged and neatly folded. Holding it in my hands, it is lighter than i had first anticipated.

Taking the scarf out, the colours were soft and easy on the eyes. The soft pink matched nicely with the soft red. Almost similiar to pastel colours. The criss-cross checkered pattern was also intriguing, as it is infact 2 layers, creating a much more interesting eye spectacle. The edges of the scarf are also nicely down in that a stronger segment is used so fraying doesn't occur as easily, as one would assume on first glance.

However, even so, the scarf's main body can get caught onto zippers, to which i had on occasional with my jackets.

On practical terms of use, with the exception of the zipper catching, it does keep you warm, and breathing through it is easier as it is more porous. It is also light and soft on the skin.

Overall i'm happy with the scarf.

P.S. if you noticed, i now have Ads on my site. Its run by Google, so you know its safe. b^^

P.P.S. More anime stuff after my exams.

Prodding and Pushing.

Well, my semester is nearing its end and i should be finishing off my thesis.
But non the less, i came across a few more anime ^^;;
- Kowarekake no Orgel OVA
- Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror
- Angel Beats!

Looks like my list to blog will be growing >_<

Not to mention the new upcomming winter season is approaching, from what i've checked, nothing is new except maybe Sekirei.
I might also decide to post on mangas later on too. As i'm actually reading more manga than watching anime now-a-days. Too bad i don't keep a list of what i read.

I've also started reading some StarWars books. All thanks to me listening to Duel of Fates again. Wonders happen when you listen to the right type of music XD

On a note, I apparently won a scarf or muffler.
And if only this winning streak would carry onto lotto xDDD

Anyways, that is my small update for you guys to know that i'm not dead or missing, and that there are stuff to look forward to. Until then, please enjoy TAM's little performances, you can find him at Youtube with the name violinpiano2. he's the president of TAM.
^____^

For those who are lazy and wish for a link, i smack you with an air filled balloon. xD

Future Updates.

I've realised that i actually haven't posted a lot.
So something to look forward to in the nearby future is my posts on
Kara no Kyoukai.
Hellsing Ultimate (OVA 7 is cool!! Seras has AWAKENED!! >D >D >D!!!!! )
Aria (the manga)

Possibly Railgun, Tales of Symphonia, The Five Star Stories(movie).

I might suggest you follow me on GoogleReader. I tend to be more active there, sharing interesting stuff.

But over here, i'm "actively" posting comments and thoughts, where GoogleReader i just share whatever i find interesting. One of them was a Starwars Death Star in WaterMelon mode. XDD and other random news, e.g. Android being ported onto the iPhone, Steven Hawkin's thought on contact with aliens, some guy getting a lifetime ban on iPads, some FailBlog stuff. etc...

So yes, while i've been actually posting less, i'm not actually dead. So keep in touch~

Eden of the East Movie 1: King of Eden

As usual, i'm not going to do any summary of the movie. So if you haven't watched it. I say go watch it, especially if you enjoyed the series.

From where we were left off last time, with Takizawa apparently got his memory wiped (again xD) and had his request to become King accepted.

He also had left his phone with Saki.

I found this interesting. To be a King but without the power of Juiz. Wonder what he was thinking.
Nontheless we found out he's doing pretty well and meet the other Selecao. To which i'm surprised in the choice of Selecao no.6. Wtf is with him? The previous guys i can see something interesting to 'save' japan. But.. no.6....?
I'm not sold on him. i don't like his character. I found it happily that Juiz seems to not no.6 too xD

With more action picking up in the second half, it seems like all hell breaks loose with No.1's requests. Dam that bastard for his request. It's now akin to a 1 on 1 duel. (well... more like 3 on 1?) But then there are a few other Selecao who have yet to make an apperance if they ever will. But with No.1's information gathering ability against Takizawa's amnesia, its going to be a fairly interesting duel.

Almost like Nurture Vs. Nature.
No.1 is who is he is after gathering so much information and experiance with life.
Takizawa is... who he is himself naturally. Having no memories, his almost a blank slate and his so called 'base' nature is there.

Though this time, he's got Saki with him. So wooot~

Anyways, i'm looking forward to the next upcomming movie >__

hot water tanks.

well, after another 10 years since the fixing of our hot water tank. it has decided to fail a component, thus rendering our house with no easy access to hot water.

In light due to efficiency, our house had a gravity fed system. thus requiring less power for hot water to run. However, in light of modern times, this was phased out for the more modern hot water pump or solar hot water. With the tank no longer in the roof, but either outside the house or ontop of the roof. This in affect allows easier installation and access for maintenace. at the cost of efficiency.

So now, we have decided to 'modern' up on house. By installing a hot water pump.
In the event you are asking "Why not Solar you enemy of the earth!".
Well.. accordingly to feng shui of sorts, it is not good to have solar panels on your roof because it opens it up allowing good energy to escape and bad ones to flow in. How accurate this is, i don't know. I'm not feng shui master. I'm no academic of Feng Shui. I'm no practioner of Feng Shui. I don't have the spiritual senses to consciously detect anything beyond the 4th dimension. Non the less, installing a solar panel by putting a hole in your roof is no good.

Thus, leaving us to a hot water pump system. Due to our recent 'free' installation of insulation, we had lost that extra rebate -_-
*sigh*

thus further indebt we go.

But these 2 weeks of old fashion wasing. (Boiling hot water, mixing with cold water, scrub and rinse etc....) i believe has reduced our water bill a little bit =D afterall, the amount of water i use in a shower is frigging ridiculous. But being a stupid human, i shall still have hot long showers that burn and feel great.
perhaps this might be difference if i start using the ensuite.

Non the less, hot water is now available, and in good time as the weather is slightly cooling more at night now.

Anyways, i need to go. my thesis is awaiting me. fark.

Eden of the East: One step closer to reality?

Yes.

Today in my paper i found an interesting article about AR (Augmented Reality)
It had struck me as a resemblance to the anime Eden of the East. and no, not in the chosen select few to save the country, but the actual Eden system. The recognition system which is applied on their phones to recognise people, objects, artefacts etc...

It seems that reality is one step closer to this.

Now, if i had the money, i would invest in these competitors, as people are more attached to their phones (heck, i hold two active ones now. one for calling, the other for internet) and if you could run the eden system, that would be more marvellous. No need to google search an image. you simply active the app, and run it through and see what is registered of course.
If things get taken a step further, you might as well obtain something akin to x-ray vision. Legally. xD

here's the article

The Reflection of the Weather

To have love and lost or to not have loved at all... The autumn descends upon my life, bringing back the winter landscape, To slumber back I go, like a dream the life that was...

-----------------

a clear day, blue skies, inconspicious, a day that says fine things to happen.
happiness and joy is seen by the eye to be not far.

a sudden change of wind swept across the landscape.
clouds loomed, thunder rumbled

heavy heavy clouds hover, but no tears fall from the sky
the heaviness remains

the clouds that would cry of sadness would dissappear if such an event occurred
to want to continue to exist, to not forget, they hold the tears back.

no violent storm
no screaming wind
no hammering hail
no pounding rain

just the heavy looming clouds that hang over...

on a side note: upcoming season looks so bland.
wtf? or has my taste changed this season due to my lesser contact with anime?
