AngelBeats!

Photobucket

AngelBeats!, another Key Animation (Clannad, Kanon and Air)

There have been quite a few people dissing AngelBeats in that Hironori Towa has made it hard to follow. It's a mixture of drama and comedy, to which i also find in other Key works.

The setting is the afterlife, teens who seemingly have lived a harsh life are given this second chance to relive it, or are present as they refuse to ascend further into the journey of life and reincarnate. They seemingly hold grudges against God for their unfair life, and are now waging War against a character they named, Tenshi (Angel). Our main character surprisingly (or not) enough happens to have amnesia and has no recollection of his previous living life and is now part of the After Life Brigade.

Photobucket

Originally, i had no real interest in this series, it doesn't sound great. It doesn't sound fantastic. It doesn't sound interesting. It doesn't sound mind-boggling. It doesn't sound 'woooo~~~~~'.

So why did i pick it up? I was bored.
The current passing autumn/winter season had no real series of interest. My main follows were AngelBeats!, Working! and K-On!! (funny enough now that i notice, all of them end with an exclamation mark xD )

As for the reason why i didn't drop this, was aside from the fact that it was an ok time-filler was the nice intro song.
AngelBeats, lends itself into a roughly 50/50 category of drama and comedy, neither able to be properly in one category either due to poor writing or insufficient time.
The Drama, if stand-a-lone would've been good, once you include more character relation and time dedicated to it.
OR
The comedy would have been fine, it played all parts fine.

What was slightly jarring was the shifting between the two spectrums within episodes.
However, it was deemed fair, until the final episode (13), where Yuri suddenly had a drastic character persona change.

From most people already stating the wtf? a the pace, i laughed until i saw the comming of this ep. And was actually a bit dissapointed. The transition between episode 12 and 13 is quite jarring, and... well... even the revelation of Kanade.
*sigh*

Overall, i might have been just fine with ending the series at episode 11, it would have suffice. Episode 12 however, might suit some people's taste of Yuri's new character if she floats your boat.

Recommendation: Why not. this techincally won't hurt you much, and it makes me interested in trying out Mapo Tofu, as the ones i've had aren't that spicy. Though one question remains is, how can you have such healthy teens living such.. peaceful? lives especially given Japan's promiscuity at that afterlife setting.

Prodding and Pushing.

Well, my semester is nearing its end and i should be finishing off my thesis.
But non the less, i came across a few more anime ^^;;
- Kowarekake no Orgel OVA
- Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror
- Angel Beats!

Looks like my list to blog will be growing >_<

Not to mention the new upcomming winter season is approaching, from what i've checked, nothing is new except maybe Sekirei.
I might also decide to post on mangas later on too. As i'm actually reading more manga than watching anime now-a-days. Too bad i don't keep a list of what i read.

I've also started reading some StarWars books. All thanks to me listening to Duel of Fates again. Wonders happen when you listen to the right type of music XD

On a note, I apparently won a scarf or muffler.
And if only this winning streak would carry onto lotto xDDD

Anyways, that is my small update for you guys to know that i'm not dead or missing, and that there are stuff to look forward to. Until then, please enjoy TAM's little performances, you can find him at Youtube with the name violinpiano2. he's the president of TAM.
^____^

For those who are lazy and wish for a link, i smack you with an air filled balloon. xD

Eden of the East Movie 1: King of Eden

As usual, i'm not going to do any summary of the movie. So if you haven't watched it. I say go watch it, especially if you enjoyed the series.

From where we were left off last time, with Takizawa apparently got his memory wiped (again xD) and had his request to become King accepted.

He also had left his phone with Saki.

I found this interesting. To be a King but without the power of Juiz. Wonder what he was thinking.
Nontheless we found out he's doing pretty well and meet the other Selecao. To which i'm surprised in the choice of Selecao no.6. Wtf is with him? The previous guys i can see something interesting to 'save' japan. But.. no.6....?
I'm not sold on him. i don't like his character. I found it happily that Juiz seems to not no.6 too xD

With more action picking up in the second half, it seems like all hell breaks loose with No.1's requests. Dam that bastard for his request. It's now akin to a 1 on 1 duel. (well... more like 3 on 1?) But then there are a few other Selecao who have yet to make an apperance if they ever will. But with No.1's information gathering ability against Takizawa's amnesia, its going to be a fairly interesting duel.

Almost like Nurture Vs. Nature.
No.1 is who is he is after gathering so much information and experiance with life.
Takizawa is... who he is himself naturally. Having no memories, his almost a blank slate and his so called 'base' nature is there.

Though this time, he's got Saki with him. So wooot~

Anyways, i'm looking forward to the next upcomming movie >__

Spice and Wolf II End.

Spice and Wolf II has ended.

And quite abrumptly too.
I somehow felt that it was quite short, despite having the similiar amount of eps. However, it could be because it seems to have a lesser amount of arcs, but a more steady focus on the relationship of our Horo and Lawrence. This wasn't neccesarily a bad pay-off.

Non-the-less, despite having the main focus on those two, i still quite enjoyed Spice and Wolf II, i would probably have to rewatch it capture the economics and trading details of it better though.

Either way. I Happily enjoyed it, and my apologies for being so quiet. i've been quite busy with uni work and what not. And will still be more busy with the upcomming reports @_@

Till then.

Review: Eden of the East

So i had finally decided to do a review on this after i said so a few months ago xD
For a better grasp, i decided to rewatch it, and the story is so much better.

Lil edit: Started off with the summary, then the body. But then i put in the first few lines and felt that this done it much more justice, i labeled that as the teaser.

Teaser:
"He had no choice but to become a prince. At any rate, he realised that a scapegoat known as a 'prince' is needed to usher in the future we hope for. That's why he became a prince, although reluctantly. In this world where kings don't even exist... Just how did he become a prince? I still haven't uncovered that secret."

Basic Summary: Takizawa Akira is found naked holding a pistol, a cellphone and with no memory. On trying to see what is what, and who he is, he discovers that the cell phone he holds contains about 8 billion yen, and it can almost grant any wish or desire of his. However, this is only in accordance in the actions to save Japan.

My Thoughts:
Aww man!
My summary doesn't do this story justice xD I even remember first reading the summaries that were out and they didn't sound interesting at all either :/
However, i am glad i did follow this anime.

This series actually has something interesting, that we go discover why Akira has no memory when we start. What's more interesting is that on the rewatch, i picked up the first few lines. It's actually Saki telling us:
"He had no choice but to become a prince. At any rate, he realised that a scapegoat known as a 'prince' is needed to usher in the future we hope for. That's why he became a prince, although reluctantly. In this world where kings don't even exist... Just how did he become a prince? I still haven't uncovered that secret."
Those few lines really tell a lot, but as you go into the series, i had actually forgotten this. And when you reach the ending, it actually brings about a full circle. However, this is only achieved when you remember those lines xD And pick up a few small details such as Akira erases his memories again as he makes his last request.

Eden of the East incorporates touching scenes and moments that involve the emotional and mentality of people. If you were in this situation, would you have done this? or done something else? Would you still do this even if you knew the outcome would be a sad one? Man... akira cheated here! he wiped his memory!! >_< despite having that memory or at least the events catch up to him
Even if you are not interested in that kind of thing, there are still interesting 'fights' that are done by the various Selecao (The people who have the same phone and ability as Akira. Having their wishes granted). Its like a strategy game, and using the power of authority as though they were pawns.

Without attempting to spoil too much of the story, i shall stop explaining and talking about it, at least plot wise.

The art style isn't too bad, its almost stock standard, however, a bit on the more 'cutesy' side rather than the 'over-power' side. I don't know if i should be dissapointed in the female character designs or not. Sure they might not be the best looking, they are somewhat realistic in the sense that not everyone looks perfect xD
But it is still good on the eyes.

And the Sound Track. This one i do plan to definitely obtain and listen to. The intro and ending songs did grow on me, but i could only properly pay attention to the BGM on the second rewatch (i blame this on the male genetic level that he is aimed to be focused and not multi tasked.)

Final Verdict:
If you want little cute type of anime. If you want something relaxing and laid back. If you want some fist to fist or mecha fight. If you want pantsu shots. If you want bishis. This is probably not for you.

If you want mind games. If you want suspense. If you want plot. If you want tactics. If you want a bit of romance. If you want revolution. If you don't mind Johnnys. This is for you.

I recommend ^_^

Spice and Wolf II

Season 2 of Spice and Wolf is underway.
And already into our first arc, things are blown out of proportion. Our duo are on the verge of breaking up thanks to some young "Knight in Shining Armour". It doesn't exactly help that our hero Lawrence looks old and scruffy. But hey, he's a merchant.

Into the 4th Episode, things are set, both sides the cowardly merchant, and the valiant knight dual off in their challenges. Once again i am dumbfounded by their business talk. I'll have to rewatch the episode just to clarify and understand what they meant by 'selling the future' and will ask my commerce friends if that actually exists or not.

Despite seeing this shaky ground between our lovely duo though, Somewhere in the back of my head it says "they can't break up. Together is what makes the show itself! Unless they plan to have the break up here and now and have Lawrence chasing after her in all manner of commerce-like events @_@ ) But this is one reason why i do like stories even if they might be predictable. I would like to see how they spin it out. Yes i believe that they will triumph over this knight, and have our wise wolf and easy-to-read-cute merchant back together travelling across the lands (though who knows where to now? now that a bombshell has been landed on their original destination). Because as mentioned, if it doesn't, doesn't this mean the show is over? o_O? and we only already just started the second season @_@.....

I now anxiously await the upcomming 5th episode to be available.
Meanwhile my source of Bakemonogatari is slow.
Canaan is what i thought originally. Not going to be that interesting.

Though i might be looking forward to the upcomming season, if what i read is to be right.

Kara no Kyoukai - 6

Oblivion Recording.

Photobucket

Kara no Kyoukai has reached its 6th installment. One more to go before its complete.
The only comment i can give after watching this instalment, is that its a bit of a lacklustre compared to its previous installments.

A brief storyline of what this arc about is below. Please highlight to read to avoid spoilers:

We finally get to see Azaka. Mikiya's sister, who is currently at the boarding school. she's also an 'apprentice' to Touko. At the school there is the mysterious 'fairy' incidents where someone apparently had been killed. Thus, Azaka as Touko's apprentice is out on the job to solve this. However, one problem is that Azaka can't see the fairies, but Shiki can. So Shiki goes undercover there to aid in the job.

As mentioned above, this installment is a tad bland. Yes, the artwork remains nice. but not as nice. Yes, the what little action scenes it has is alright, though its apparent that our main cast of Shiki, Tokuo and Mikiya are the side ones this time. Azaka looks like she can pack a punch. Kalafina still is doing the decent songs, and the bgm remains decent.

Despite all that, i reckon this is one of the slowest installments of Kara no Kyoukai, even compared to the first one. Albiet the action scene is refreshing.

Semester 2

Well, holidays are over. and i've realised i haven't touched this at all o_o
sorry my negligence.

However, from then till now, i've mostly been workign and going out, and catching up on some anime.

Finished Tayutama and Chrome Shelled Regios and K-On, as well as Eden of the East.
The first 3 aren't worth mentioning much.
though i might do a bit of a review of Eden of the East. or at least my opinions and thoguhts on it after.

i've also picked up a few manga during the holidays, and once again, i dislike catching up to manga(fairy tale, medaka box, the world god only knows, d.gray-man, hayate no combat butler, negima, beautypop, aiki, etc... ). it becomes so depressing ~_~

Sidenote: There was a solar eclipse today, viewable from China and the pacific ocean. I want to see one one day :(

Swish~ Mix of stuff

Firstly, i've finished my exams!
woot! i just need to pass everything (course wise) >_
so now im' on holz and utterly bored. (with the exception of work) i shall endeavour to do SOMETHING. i might go buy that 20,000 piece puzzle i saw a while ago.
i still need to buy frames for my older puzzles -_-

Aside from that, i'm getting more use to my phone. and now have added more themes.
I have also formatted my wind. it now runs much smoother, however, i'm still have the same problem that sometimes the itnerface reverts back to XP style -_-

Meanwhile, i've also picked up a few other mangas to read. One of them being MedakaBox. Another one to my surprise was Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Vivd.
Its set 4 years after the Striker's timeline.
I'm gonna follow this. more nanoha ^_____^

And my only source of Hellsing Ultimate OVA has been shot down ~_~
guuuh *shakes fist*

on the upside, Eden of the East is getting more and more climatic now. It seems the that Takizawa has used a fair amount of aliases and thanks to the Eden system, it's gonna be his potential undoing. As they find the treaded place within the mall. However, i want to see where this goes. How can you blame a man who has lost his memories? Despite doing it himself. And dammit, i want that Global Computer is a dangerous program. And i don't like no.10 & no.7 (think it was these guys). They're working together >_
On a leaving note. i looked into one of my externals, its got 4.5K songs....
~_~
i don't even feel like listening to 1K. let alone 4.5K
not to mention my more recent downloads, i do wonder how many songs i have now in total.
As my main ext hdd. i leave the winrar-ed ones zipped. So we can never get an accurate no until i decide to unzip them all XDDDDDDDDDDD

Till then.

Eden of the East 7 + Update

Seleaco Vs. Seleaco!
each ordering actions against the other with bigger and bigger events. It does make me wonder what does Juiz thinks of all this. And also makes me wonder, what happens if two or more seleaco call Juiz at the same moment xD
There is the possibility that Juiz is some sort of AI, but thats no fun in a sense.

But indeed, Eden of the East is keeping me interested in where the whole thing is going. Will we see an actual proper ending, or what happens if Takizawa gets killed ~_~ xD
However, i'm kind of thinking it'll slide towards an opened conclusion or a sad ending.
But towards the end of this episode is intriguing. Dianna/Kuroha grand escape, and continuing her purging of bad men. Friggin hell, i had hoped she wouldn't live the previous ep because of what she does xD but now, if its just those guys, i might like it slide xD. Not to mention, the purchasing of illusionary tricks. That's some illusion she got there, not to mention she apparently bought back the hotel xD

After reading a few other bloggers and their comments, i realised i'd make a poor analytical detective. I never noticed that Oosugi's tie and this victim's tie are a different colour. From red to green. Now, this is assuming that the quality and continuity of the anime is consistent. If it is, gah, i got caught up in it xD But it's also a good sign.
Still if true, where the hell is Oosugi xD
and the Eden of the East system is much cooler now that i've seen it in action. I'll almost guarantee that it'd be a good investment too =D
However, i doubt australia has the bandwidth to support such a system. But even so, having it work offline is still great.

Now i'm awaiting to see the next ep. See where it'll go from here. Second/third story down, and onto the next! =D

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~**~*~~*~*

on a side note. my phone is still not in stock -_- i'm gonna go see them and hope it'll be in stock after my exams.

Speaking of exams. this sucks ~_~ and i should be studying ~_~
*sigh*

My Dodgy Phone

My Nokia 6233.

I had gotten it as a bday/xmas present from HK.
It was cool. It could type and read chinese =D
best thing ever i needed in my phone.
That and it was my second own phone.
My first came with a plan, so that was kind of cheating, and the 2 phones after that was traded from a relative. But this Nokia was my own and own alone =D

It does its job, takes pics, makes call, put on my cool ring tones ((Lucky Star - Gyyyaaaaa!!!!, Shakugan no Shana - You are the one, Escalflowne - Shadow of Doubt, Escaflowne - Dance of the Curse)), with the first 2 being my current one and the last 2 my previous ones and several other message tones.

However, recently its been driving me slightly crazy.
For some strange reason, the battery is dying. Everytime someone calls me or when i call someone, the battery dies quickly. HOWEVER!!!! Once i turn the phone back on, give or take a few minutes, the battery is suddenly fully charged again! @_@
I'm disturbed by this turn of events, my phone or at least my battery has taken the stance of disliking to hear my voice and thus avoiding as much calls as possible.

This is disturbing me enough that i had finally taken a step to obtain a new phone. I have my sights on a Sony Ericsson w595. It'd be my first sony ericsson. It's be my first phone i PAID for myself. I'm looking forward to it ^_^

I might make another post once i get it ^_^

On slightly different matters, i have slowed my anime download significantly. I had orignally thought this new season sucks, but it doesn't suck that bad. I'm following 3 series with some interest.
1) Eden of the East
2) Asura Cryin
3) K-On!

the first 2 for plot. the 3rd for a slight breather, but i just might rewatch lucky star or something else.

Till then.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Wow... a post!

Ya.... xD

it HAS been a while, the last seasons have been ending, a new season has been up. i've had tests and stuff.

i guess that has been the main reason why i haven't been blogging

As for the new season, i've somehow just been downloading and not actulaly watching. Except K-on, which has been very popular and even been dubbed as the successor of Lucky Star.

i've watched 3 episodes of K-on so far, i'm still finding lucky star in the lead. But lets see how it goes later on.

On another related note, i think ineed a new phone.
Any suggestions? (no iPhone, or HTC Dream)

A Certain Magical Index - 18

Finally!
Some Possible Plot DEVELOPMENT!!!!

The previous arc with the Angel Fall was alright, and previous to that was a whole friggin introduction to various characters. But now that it seems that most of the characters have been mainly introduced, i'd been hoping for some plot development.

And, what i had hope is comming true. In episode 18 (with the new OP) we get hint of a Kamijyou Faction. And that there are people who are out to destroy this. The interesting thing i guess is the labelling on the existance of the Faction, we know (apparently) that Touma isn't actively seeking out people to make them into allies and do his bidding, it is however, he just happens to be in the cross fire of the magical and scientific world and has friends in both realms. In light of this, the higher ups see him as a future threat.

This seems as a possible decent plot to start with. I just hope that things will pick up and its not so many disconnected arcs. They're at episode 18 already ~_~

Aside from that, Misaka has a lot of screen time and i'm starting to agree she's a better character. Index has very little screen time recently, to the extent its almost as if she hasn't existed. However, thinking on the origins of Index, her character background has been explained during the first episode, so there isn't much that one can do right? Dunno, but lets see how this all turns out.

Winter 09 Series

So~ Now that i've finally and finished reviewing (if you could call it that) the completed anime from the previous season. I can venture forth into the Winter Anime Series!
Of course i'll only be mentioning the ones that i've got an eye on.

Druaga no To - the Sword of Uruk
As some might know, this is th sequel to Aegis of Uruk that was shown last year. And we're following off from there quite nicely with only a passing of half a year.
We see that the "left-behind" party is living life out normally, with the exception of Jil who appears to be deep in sorrow and despair.
We also get introduced to a some new characters. Kai/Ki who appears to be Prietess Ishtar and the Queen Gilgamesh. Or It might've been Ishtar herself, and a druid who just got dragged along into the party xD We also see the face of Utu! Either way, with Kai/Ki, Jil and party now have a means to climb to the tower above the shrine and find out the truth, ad Jil is determined to find it. (Even with Fatina bonding well with him now.)
Anyways, i am interested in seeing how this goes. I'm up for a serious plot development or it being riddled of RPG paradoies and what not ^_^

Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo
Also known as 'The Girl who Leapt through Space'. I honestly wasn't following this anime orignally, however, with two distinct polar-based opinions of this series, i decided to check out how bad it was. Unfortunately, its turned out to be slightly interesting so far.

The time frame is somewhere in futuristic space. Colonies with lil androids that serve and befriend us. They're at their peak of peacefulness and happiness. This is evident with things having be censored, e.g. Anti-partical cannons, brain colonies etc...
either way, we have our girl meeting by accident the Brain Colony, which is named Leopoard (same voice as Lelouch, i'm finding it rather amusing the all cunning serious Britanian Zero is now doing this kind of role)
Anyways, we haven't gotten to the real plot of the series yet, however, it seems that Leopard is doing some sort of show, and there seems to be this other group of people across some sort of vast distance are also involved. I'm interested to see how this will all play out.

White Album
Another idol romance anime. I don't know why i picked this up. this at least seems better than I''s Pure. I might be seeing how much of a tragic fail this series might be.

Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger
YAY! Another Ippo anime! This follows directly after the previous anime, we start with Miyata's OPBF title challenge, and the rest should be Ippo's defense as champion and what not. However, with these new CGs and, the characters seem a tad out of place, or maybe i'm just use to old style animation.

Asu no Yoichi
Harem! xD Though at least the main guy doesn't seem to be as useless at first. He's been train and bred in the mountains all his life in the life of a samurai. However, he already exceeds his father so he his father orders him to learn in the city. He'll be freeloading at another dojo that has the same style. And they all happen to be girls.
Oh well, comedy romance harem with action i guess.

Chrome Shelled Regios
Set in some dusty-sandy desert world, people live in move-able domes. And there will be inter-dome wars/fight that i believe seek to obtain resources or something.
Anyways, it seems we'll be following platoon 17, with our main character Layfon. Who transferred into this dome to start a new life as he was brought up in the Military Arts. Platoon 17 also consist of Felli, the psychokinetic ability girl. Sharnid their sharpshooter (he reminds me of Weber from FMP), Harley the Dite-mechanic (Dite are the weapons they use. Pretty nifty in their ability to be compact and restore to full form) with Nina the head of the platoon.
anyways, i'm interseted to see where this will lead me. A combo of comedy and action and some plot going on ^_^ And there could be a love triangle but *shrug*

RideBack
Motorbikes with arms that can transform into two legged vehicles? COOL!!! enough for me xD Intersetingly enough also is that the heroine is a girl who had done ballet all her life, and she's using her agility, grace and flexibility from ballet to use these RideBacks. Not your typical mecha show.

Munto TV AKA Sora o Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi no Utsuru Sekai
Normal girl gets involved in the World of the Heavens. She alone holds the power to save both the two worlds. Now i get lazy in describing, but this gives me a feel of escaflowne in the beginning. But this is one type i havent seen for a while i hope i'm in for a good ride ^_^
ANN Summary
I'm a bit sad its only registered for 13 eps though.

KuroKami
I've been following the manga for this and quite enjoy it. However, the anime has changed a few things. E.g. from Keita being the guy who is a programmer to a HS guy. This annoys me. No one has subbed it yet or released an ep of it yet xD
KuroKami or BlackGod involves our world and the existance of Dopplegangers along with Triple-liners. Its fairly interesting. Action ^_^ Comedy ^_^ i hope the anime will be as good as the manga despite all the changes, but i can't help but feel Keita will be more useless and pathetic *sigh*

-------------------------------------------------------------

they'res one more i'm interested in, except i haven't found it yet.
Ri

Review: Ga Rei Zero

Ga Rei Zero.

The first episode where we had a majority of characters being killed off, making us wonder what's going to happen now?

Well, like backtrack methods, this is what it was. Except, it was the beginning of the ending. Rather than just the ending.

So from the second episode onwards, we get introduced properly to the main characters. Especially around Kagura and Yomi.
As mentioned in previous post (i hope), Ga Rei Zero is actually the prequel to the manga, and i'd say it does an alright job, i do feel slightly tempted to read the manga to see what actually happens now. However, i'm still content with just the anime.

I still love the OP ^_^. I can't remember the ED though....

I can't really say much about this, but if you like action, and girls with swords killing monsters a bit of romance and tragedy this one does a nice job to pass time. And for those who dislike their heroines becomming weak after falling in love with a guy. Don't worry, it doesn't happen here ^_^ The girls are strong (generally) throughout the series ^_^

Review: Kurozuka

Before i delve into the review that i had completed watching a long time ago (at the same time as choas;head and ga rei zero), i'll just mention a late Happy Chinese New Year!
And sorry for the quietness, i have been quite busy these past few weeks.

Kurozuka is an action thriller-ish fantasy sci fi anime. We begin the story in Ancient Japan where Kuro meets Kuromitsu. Kuromitsu appears to be the classic japanese beauty living all by herself in the middle of the forest. However, towards the end of the first episode we notice she actually drinks the blood of people. And without a doubt, we'll think she's a vampire.
Also Kuro also joins her in her 'sect' however, his head gets sliced off before the transformation is complete. But lo and behold, he's still alive and he wakes up to a post-apocolypstical Tokyo.

However, he has no memories. Just that an urge to find Kuromitsu. So the story revolves around him trying to find Kuromitsu while dealing with his own amnesia and the sect that is also after Kuromitsu in search of power and immortality.

A nice basic plot, with a few interesting twists and turns. The side characters are decent (though not decent enough for me to remmeber their names, but then, this was quite a while ago). The action scenes were at times a big jaggered, i have a slight dislike in action scenes where a character has superb speed in comparison to their opponents. So when they duke it out, we always tend to see the enemies in slow motion, with our super-character zipping about between opponents, pause, kill and continue. I have rarely found (in memory search) any movie or animation that has done this well. (the Matrix almost done it, but then Neo and Trinity and Morpheus weren't super fast, they just slowed the whole scene done.)

With regards to the ending, this is one of the endings that still has me trying to figure out the whole thing. I've either got a basic gist of it, or my mind had just accepeted it, i wouldn't mind rewatching it from start to finish to see how i can link it all together yet.

The OP sucks, The ED's alright.

This might be something i'd recommend for people like action and a bit of mystery. And maybe vampire... even though there really isn't a vampire so to say.

Chaos; Head

Yes, Chaos; Head (along with kurozuka and Ga Rei Zero) was finished quite a while ago, but i have yet to post any of it. Simply for the fact that i've been busy.

You can read the synopsis or the description of Choas;Head in one of my earlier posts or just visit the usual, ANN, AniDB or wikipedia 6_6

As a whole series, Chaos;Head doesn't seem too bad, they had managed a plot quite nicely at a decent pace. Starting off as a serial-murder type thriller to something science fiction. The source of the science fiction is the machine so called Noah (and Noah II), as well as the Giglomaniacs. People with the ability to alter reality on their whim, so to say.
Noah, the machine mimicks the ability of the Giglomaniacs, and as all machine, it has a creator, which is our villain.

Thinking upon it, our Villain, Norose isn't anything special. In wanting power (vast power, one to control the country and people 6_6 ), he uses Noah II to control mankind. And like all good scientists, he does research and constantly tries to obtain new data. The Data in this case is the so called 'code' that each of the Giglomaniacs have. How he does it isn't mentioned, but i'm guessing its somewhere in the DNA or mental map, afterall he's been holding each girl and draining them. And with most villains they always overlook a weakness in their defence. Sure it's a smart idea to program Noah to protect itself and not let anyone touch it, (with the exception of Norose himself), but whats the point in doing that when you exclude yourself from it? Arrogant idoits.

As for our so called 'hero' Takumi. I had originally disliked him severly, his constant delusions and fantasies really annoyed him. He only became slightly like-able at the turn of events when he slowly starts accepting and less deluding. However, in hindsight, it was a nice touch to the whole storyline of Chaos;Head, plays the theme of perceptive reality quite nicely.

None of the girls get much character development. Nothing special. At least it wasn't a general harem comedy. Except for the stupid delusions ~_~

The Intro and Ending song aren't anything special and have not caught my interest at all. Fail ~_~
Pop... i think is the genre for the two.. Tween Pop? o_O? im not very well versed in music terms.

Overall the series was somewhat okay. Nothing spectacular, but nothing something so horrible i'd avoid my entire life for. A once-watch is good enough. No need to rewatch.

Tales of Symphonia

The tales series, most gamers should know about them, from snes to cube. I've only played one (and haven't finished yet -_-), Tales of Phantasia, and its a fun game.
Though Tales of Symphonia OVA is linked with the actual ToS game for GameCube, which i'll never play coz i don't own one.

Even so, ToS is decently made with only 4 episodes. While watching i was wondering how they managed to place the entire game within the story, but since i haven't played the game maybe someone can enlighten me. IS ToS OVA the entire game? or just part of it with regards to the first world?
I had already seen similarities between the Tales. Fantasy, then Sci-Fi, half-elves was added along with dimensional travelling ^_^ (this is my exp with tales of phantasia)

It is a bit sad you don't get to see all the moving around they do throughout the world, and all that battles, we just see the outcomes of all encounters. By doing this, they save unneccessary repeats of similar scenes and are able to play the keypoints in the plot. Seal Breaking (at least 1), Exsphere, the ending of this world to go to the next ^_^

with that said, the pacing would be decent, music isn't too bad, action scenes aren't too bad either. Sure you'd want to know more with what happens, but with that you gotta play the game right? xD

Either way, time wasn't wasted, it was a decent OVA.

Fansubbing: At its best.

While venturing through the other blogs, i came across a post from tj_han at riuva who came across a post at Yoroshiku anime blog.

http://kielmaru07.wordpress.com/2008/11/23/fansub/

its got some of the awkard fansubbing translations and errors, had a nice laugh at them, especially with the fansubber comparisons xD

Have fun with it.

Anime Marathons..... and Summer Season~

Fark.....
Anime Marathon-ing while watching current season stuff is mentally draining -_-
Since the holidays i've caught up on some completed anime, Utawarerumono, Yakikate Japan, Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion, a rewatch of moyashimon.
In marathon-ing these you don't really have much time to think about the story or its development or pass judgement as you would when you follow the current season ones like Kurozuka, Kuroshitsuji, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Clannad ~After Story~, Nodame Cantabile Paris Arc, Tytania, ToraDora, Ga Rei Zero, Tales of the Abyss, and Chaos; Head in my case.

Utawarerumono
Well, this was a surprise. I had originally wanted to see this because of the characters? can't recall, anyways it was an enjoyable ride. From first glance the world appears to be a fantasy type world with cat? fox? people. furries. and our masked hero. And later, through various wars and battles, we discover the truth of that world. Like most stories i guess, with each war there is always some hidden secret behind it, even if our main character was unaware of it. The Op and Ed was good, i find it slightly annoying that such a nice catchy song was for an anime that had more than half of war and battles. At least this didn't piss me off as much as Stellvia of the Universe. What a nice song, and when i watched that OP, i was gobsmacked -_-.... and hoping for better thigns didn't help -_-
Utawarerumono, desipte being an anime of wars between countries and races that unviel the truth of the world, is nicely done. Though i do wish for more peaceful screentime with all the characters. Almost loved them all ^_^

Yakikate Japan
I finally finished this after 3 years xD i first watched this in HS and had stopped at the beginning of the Monaco World Cup where our heroes got to France. The comedy and bread theories were still the same, hwoever if i went and sat through all 69 eps, i'd be TOO mentally drained, since i started with the monaco cup to the end and that was draining enough @_@

Code Geass
One of the most popular from recent anime series, and then many people said the second season was screwed up and was only saved when they rushed the ending.
Now who likes tactics? Strategy? I do. Thus i enjoyed this anime. Though Death Note should reign more, but the death of the orignal L still annoys me xD Lelouch on this hand i can relate to so *shrug*
What can i say after watching all 2 season in one go? Lelouch isn't that bad, and has some fairly interesting if you had time to discuss the morals, and views and perspectives it holds and you can relate to to draw out your own ideals and theories. That and nice mecha fights ^_^
Still... i do wonder what will happen to CC in the end *sigh*

Now for the latest season i've been following,

kurozuka.
this is interesting, started off in ancient japan (excuse my poor statement but i'm too tired.. my mind hasn't recovered from marathoning anime yet) then we get zoomed to the 'present' which is the future where tokyo has been destroyed. Yet the bond that was made in the past between the two (kuromitsu and kuro was it?) is still as strong as ever.
With Love, Bloodshed, Inhumane goals, this one i'm interested to see how far it goes.

Kuroshitsuji
Hey, another butler anime, and a DEMON butler at that xD
now the first ep was a bit "mmm....." with the 'torterous' of that man, i was thinking it was horror based, though now, its probably less, despite the introduction of shinigamis. I'm still finding it amusing with a one great demon butler and the rest of the useless staff. I'm also interested to see all that there is with the dealings of the contract made.
Its good for comedy, and i can't get enough of the ending scenes ^_^

Toaru Majutsu no Index
This one was one of the ones i was looking forward to, where magic and science mix. A girl who holds several thousands of magical tomes within her and a boy who has a right hand that can dispel all ESP powers and magic too. Originally i was interested to see how it would go, with our girl Index to be forced to only have memories that span for a year, and then a turn about of events in saving her, our guy Touma loses all his memories from the previous incident. I'm awaiting the big plot of this.... definitely....

Clannad ~ After Story ~
YAY! more Clannad! I already know what happens in the end *sigh* (stupid me for watching the movie) just yay for more clannad ^_^

Nodame Cantabile Paris Arc
Well i was anticipating this with just recently finishing the first season.
However, i've only watched 3 eps and am APPALED! (is that how you spell it? o_O?)
FRIGGIN HELL!! They took out so much of the music >_< !
and that forced me to read the manga.
and now i'm depressed at where that's heading and don't feel like watching more nodame since its so much rushed and chopped up. wtf is j.c. staff doing here?

Tytania
Well well, another super power anime. this one is in space. With no mechas yet as far as i can tell. And they seem to have a british like-age tot hem too. I'll see how this goes for plot. Doesn't seem too bad and doesn't seem too good yet. i wonder why so many people praising it.

ToraDora
School Anime. Comedy. Romantic Comedy? Who knows. This is comedy with the short tsundere? Taiga (Tiger) and nice, mould-killer Ryuji (Dragon). and the other cast of Ami, whats-her-name-that-is-happy-go-lucky-cheery girl and what-his-name-with-glasses yea... my mind is screwed so no names to remmeber yet -_-
Still, fun stuff this one.

Ga Rei Zero
Bwargh, i read that this anime is to be a prequel to the manga? i dunno i haven't read it, but the first ep left a nice impact, a lot of main? chars got killed quickly o_O which makes you think "so... what hapens now? o_O" and so we go and look in to the past that lead to these events.

Tales of the Abyss
man.. i should go watch Tales of Symphonia, i hear its better. i dunno why i'm stil following this. Its anoying me... hopefully it picks back up. Or i should play the game...?

Chaos; Head
Well well.... i was following this because of the cool di-swords. And man... that is definitely not a good enough reason to watch this anime -_- What i'm looking forward to now, is now the world wll be destroyed as was dreamt in the series. The main character is a useless guy. He hasn't reached the level of the Makoto in School Days because he hasn't screwed around with so many girls. but his friggin delusions and pathetic-ness is getting to me -_- not a good sign.
i'll see how this anime goes on and hope it somehow interests me more....

And so, ends basic conclusions of what i've been watching generally.
(i also marathond stargate! bt that was during exams -_- )

After all this though, i still think that mangas are better to marathon.
You go at your own pace and nto dragged into theirs which can drain you more *sigh*
That, or its coz i'm not moving much -_-

Btw, i've canceled my idea on wordpress, seems to much hassel right now. sorry.
